Darian & Kelly's Baby Shower

Oh Baby!
Baby girl Willits shower
October 2 2010
We threw a baby shower for Darian and Kelly.  Here are some pictures for you, hope you enjoyed.

The colors were pink and orange, which came out so vibrant, happy and playful. Mom & Dad wanted to keep the baby name hush-hush so rather than using a name we used the catch-phrase throughout the shower of “Oh Baby!”, starting with the invitations. A handpicked selection of fresh flowers, in pinks and orange adorned the event along with Karen Katz books for the parents-to-be to take home and one day read to baby. Candles and little pumpkins were set around- what a perfect way to welcome fall on behalf of the “ lil’ pumpkin” and coordinate with the color scheme. It looked fabulous and Nate and I were beyond thrilled to see that all our planning and hard worked had played out beautifully! Yes, that was our adda-boy... by the end we needed it! Here is also where I need to give a proper thanks to Nana Noni (Dolores) for being a life saver; not only was she right there with us until midnight the night before and morning of, to help set things up, she also spent a few of her precious Saturday’s helping me to craft (teaching me to sew a line in order to make the table runners, as well as painting and bow tying the favors- just to name a few.) Thank you!

The party favors!

Uncle Nocho tying ribbon on vases & jars the night before. He looks thrilled, hugh?
Nate helped every step of the way- we made a good team!

The Diaper Raffle Grand Prize: A flavored vodka basket. Seeing how it was a coed shower the gifts had to enthuse both guys & gals.
  The centerpieces/ flowers
The table was set up family style and the centerpiece clusters were set up all the way down.  The circles in the flowers spelled out 'Oh Baby' down the length of the table.

The punch jars were creatively (if I do say so myself) named. Keeping with the shower colors we had a pink punch and an orange punch! I love small details!

Cookies and candy balls all in pink and orange shades made up the dessert table.

Dolores handled the diaper raffle table and greeted arriving guests, as Darian's second mother.

The Guests of honor:
Mama Kelly and Big sis, Kaiya!
 Daddy Dubb$!

Kelly & Sister, Heather (the Auntie)
Kaiya and Grandma Barb (Kelly's mother)

  The Unger ladies.
I wish Kelly was in here- would have been a nice (complete) generation shot. Awesome picture none the less!

Game time!
Uncle Nocho created a word search that was quite the challenge!  It was impressive. Check out how into it everyone was! All heads down in concentration. It was timed so no one wasted their minutes.

And the winner was Delia- she managed 15 words out of the 25.

The man game: Play- Doh.
Okay, so the guys had 5 minutes to mold a baby outfit out of Play- Doh. The catch- they had to do it blind folded!  It was awesome- we were all pretty impressed.  Kelly had a  hard time being the judge.

You can see that the Clothespin game was ongoing.Nick was doing well until his mother-in-law, Dolores, nabbed them faster than a thief in a diamond heist. She took much pleasure in doing so! Hehe. This is one competitive clan (which is why the word search had to be so hard!)

A bunch of men, lined up in a pretty row, blindfolded... Ummm... no comment other than it wasn't totally unpleasing the eyes which is probably why their ladies stood behind them!

Kaiya is trying to understand what the heck Dad is doing.

Wow! Really, Chris? Na- he must have been peeking!

That's pretty good. He even had time to make a snowman and was working on a diaper.

Daddy Dubb$- niiice! Even has pleats in the skirt. You must play dollies alot with Kaiya!

After much thought and anxious deliberation the winner is...

The green dress with shoes by Nickeson.

We were happy to see that our hot pink, colored- coordinated- to- the party, bandannas were a fashion hit with the guys.

At the end of the party we did the Diaper Raffle and Clothespin games.
Dolores won the Clothespins! I told you, she was determined and got 'em!

Heather and Chris won the Diaper Raffle. Cent'- anni! Salute!!

( ... to health! and a hundred years of luck! )

Good times

The boys.

Brothers.

Nick & Delia.

Dick & Dolores
 Fisher.
Brixton.

 Lucy.

These two, always sharing an 'inside joke' or something...

The Clemons siblings.  In birth order even.

 The Morey clan. Cool picture!

With Kelly & Abbi.
Boy cousins (and another coming in 2011!)

 Kaiya.

 Jacoby.
Daddy Fish is hot! It's my blog so I get to say it.

Cake!

I love these pictures of Fisher. Thanks Tio Nick!

The kids had a blast playing together and spinning each other on the chairs. No worries, thankfully not a one puked or was injured... and let me tell ya, those chairs went fast!

I love this picture of cousins Lucy & Fisher. Their faces tell you they are enjoying each other and are truly in the moment like only children in childhood can.

Fisher had the ladies doing all the pushing... yeah, okay, I need to work on that! Although, Dad loved it.

I love this one, too! Such pretty girls.

Fast as fast can be!

Fisher and Brixton- thinking along the same lines. Both, taken with different cameras have (almost) the same action and pose a few feet apart.
The world outside of where you are is always more interesting. How restless we humans are.

Gifts.

Kaiya with the diaper raffle names.

The stroller and car seat from Grandma Dukes! It did not arrive in time so we printed out a picture for Darian and Kelly!

Do these shorts make my bum look big?

Misc., fun.

A huge thank you to those who came- we had fun and can't wait to welcome Baby Girl Willits!

After the party, during clean-up, Uncle Dubb$ took Fisher for some box driving!

Back at the Fish bowl some of us tried to unwind and had dinner (by that I mean pizza.)

That's Kelly and Baby surrounded by strong and beautiful women.
We wish for Baby Girl WIllits and Kaiya to stay surrounded- always- by such feminine strength as their examples and role models.

Wine helps, too.

Fun pictures in honor of an approaching Halloween.

Lucy, Fisher & Brixton's Poppi Tops and Nana Noni.

From Left to right: Nate, Darian, Bradford and Nickeson. I spy an owl on the pirate.
