** Picture order always bottom to top**
Labor Day- a long weekend of rest? Never. It was more like Labor- Keeping up with Fish- Day(s). Actually, a lot like Ground Hog Day, same thing over and over. First we started a new project; converting his room into useable play space. Removed the changing table (so sad to see it go, as silly as that sounds) and added a dresser, then removed his wall unit to use that wall as an activity center- which we are still designing. For now he has his magnet board their for play.
* I will note here a great HUGE thanks to Anthony who after spending the day at Children’s ER with his son, Hunter (first stitches required for a bad bonk on the little head), graciously came over to help with the heavy lifting. You rock!
Of course nothing is as easy as you think it will be and one day turned into two days. Fisher decided he could get into all kinds of trouble; climbing everything in sight like the elliptical, step ladder- one handed as he took some blocks with him, Daddy’s drill- no time for a photo of that!, and the ever daunting stairs. Once his room was semi-completed he decided his little chair was not for sitting but for lifting and dragging around the house. Furthermore, the Fish is cutting 4 molars and has been cranky as all heck with no naps (you will notice he does not really look happy.) Yes, our Prince it seems winds up not down. To try to make the little guy happy we did record setting activities of the park- was not happy about the slide, Babies R Us to find a gate to fit our stairs- enough said about that for our peace of mind- but to no avail- finally deciding that trying on hats always makes you smile, not just for girls when its USC, and finally going to watch airplanes because our boy is all about the airplanes!! No matter where he is, if he hears one, he lights up, speaks out and points. A future pilot perhaps? Maybe our Fish prefers wings to fins. Daddy built a neat Mission out of Fisher’s blocks, which is his favorite activity, but Fisher only likes to come knock your materpieces over- sorry to his Poppy Tops an architect he may not be. Demolition, defiantly more probable… Look at the tired eyes of Fisher, by the end... you could tell he was ‘done’. He ended up crashing out very soundly dreaming of USC and ariplanes.
Any rate, I think we threw the pool in there as well. Our vacation is over and we’re exhausted and ready to return to work…for some rest! As the Queen of run-on- sentences I will sign off for now.
Love Nate and Misty
