Bye- bye Chuppie!

A "big boy" party on March 16, 2012 signals the end of an era... or at least infancy.
Fisher puts on a brave face and welcomes the "big boy" task at hand; giving up his beloved security by way of tossing out his Nuk (aka Chuppie), cold turkey!
For those who know the Fish well, and well, those who view this blog, know what a step this was for him. So, how did he do it you may ask?  Letting him know that he was becoming a big boy and that meant he could have a big boy toy in exchange and we would celebrate his decision. After that we simply asked if this was something he wanted to do- he answered yes. Basically, we left the decision up to him. What? Oh, hmmm.... and bribery? Ha! Only to some. To us, it was more like a reward of his bravery and for pain that would surly ensue come 9pm. Unfortunately, Mommy and Daddy and even poor Abbi were not granted gifts for the heartache, pain, sleepless nights and trouble.
In the end, after a few weeks of sorrow, Fisher did very well and we are proud to say is Chuppie free.

He picked out his own party rewards and his cake!

The very brave moment came. We all made parade outside, lead by Fisher, and he tossed his Chuppies in the "big" trash can.  He really wanted cake!

Now a big boy present!

Tired.

Thinking Man. Silly Daddy.

I guess his cool new "big boy" trike is a delivery cart.

I don't want to go to bed pout.

Post Script:
That very same week Fisher received his first trophy for a sport. Soccer.
A week of awards and big boy-ness for sure!
