The end of July is upon us... Time seems to slip by, all too fast. It is within these spontaneous occasions you are reminded of that, whether you peek at the calendar only to realize dates have flown by or a month has come to end. Sometimes you are reminded of that by nature- in a cruel and harsh way that reminds you how vulnerable we are, as humans. Just two years ago I was reminded how delicate life is and how much was unfinished. How blessed we were for Fisher, and from day one of his life, I knew that time mattered and wanted it slow the hell down. I try to savor and show gratitude, but let’s face it, we can’t always, day in and day out life takes over and once again you realize at that yet another month has gone. Kind of like dieting for two years with no results. Hehe.
What I wanted to start out saying was that we had a busy and awesome weekend. No chores, no work, just time with Fisher, one on one, and with those we love. I was very excited for this weekend, knowing how badly we wanted some quality time with Fisher, not doing home improvements or chores or late work meetings, like we have been for the last four weeks. And we did. It was however bittersweet. I guess my point to this ramble is that I feel bad saying we had a nice weekend when a lot of loved ones (including Nate) were hurting. I think a lot of us were reminded, in the cruel way, how valuable life or time is. Out of respect I wanted to acknowledge that posting about our "great" weekend comes with hurt, too. In the same breath, respectfully, I think it is okay that we were able to reflect on what is important and what people mean to us as we enjoy our precious time together. I hope that made sense for those it matters to.
Time to just drop all the BS of life and be better people, no, be great humans and get along. I hope that one day the 'great energy' that some people contain becomes highly contagious- an airborne pathogen of light.
Yes, I still have hippie roots, but it's totally true.
Yes, I still have hippie roots, but it's totally true.
Ps. There are some amazing shots of Fisher below from Saturday, I hope you have the patience to scroll through. My Disclaimer is simple: Being myself, I can never just pick a "few" pictures to post. They all bring me joy (hopefully you as well.) The end result to that is you have to scroll through a ton.
Friday night. Point Loma- concerts in the park with some friends. Fisher enjoyed himself immensely, as did we. It was actually pretty cool and we are so glad we packed up dinner and headed out there after work on an evening that could have gone so wrong.
Another great view. Walking in to the park.
Take note that a cup holder built into your stroller is nothing short of genius! At least when used for adult beverages.
Just checking it all out.
Uppies. For a better view.
Dinner. This was the last time he sat for the night! He was up and about.
Little J.M.
Catch me if you can!
Always running. In motion.
The only thing that stopped him in his tracks - some shinny chrome! He dug this ride! Even tried climbing on the seat.
Full speed ahead!
See the little newborn head next to Nate? Adorable and sweet! Brandon's daughter- her name is Delia. She is 6 weeks old.
Getting sleepy.
The next morning- mischief! Fisher will do anything to get a leg up! Including standing on a teeny tiny pale to turn on (and off) the kitchen light.
Look at that face- he so knows he's busted, he is doing that adorable, frozen stance- doe eyed, thing he does when caught.
Balance is a fine skill.
Okay, this was my find of the week. Sale on flowers! I know! I got 10 stems for 5.00- how could I pass them up? In answer, I could not. They were so fresh we got to watch them open and even now they are just lush and huge. A statement.
We spent the afternoon playing with Fisher in his little pool in our back yard. Now, please admire our fabulously dry, dead grass and dirt yard. After three attempts at planting our own lawn, I think we need some serious sod!!!! However, there are some amazing pictures of Fisher so who cares about all the dirt.
Just testing the waters.
Spitting sequence: Cracking himself up doing so!
Yuk.
he thinks he's hysterical.
How can I get such great shots like the ones below, sometimes but not always? It's like I learn to use my camera, then forget just as quickly. Boo.
Golden locks.
Watering the plants. Hey, at least they're green.
Mommy shhhh.... ready for a nap! Niiice.
Building.
A nighttime swing. Look, no hands!
Almost got a foot in my mouth... wouldn't be the first time- only usually it's my own.
Lucy's 3rd Birthday party.
Happy birthday to Fisher's cousin, Lucy. I was not on A game for getting good shots... but I tried. She had a pirate themed party!
I asked her to smile for me- this is what I got.
Come on guys- hit that pinata already...
Lucy's Poppi Tops & Tio Nocho
These two; chips of the same block!
Lucy opened all those gifts one handed- never dropping her lolly and boy, she made out in the gift arena!
Clemons Family sack races... the kids had no idea what to think...
... one little speed bump (who was fleeing for his life)
... and one good man down.
I believe Tzaddi won. I think I was laughing to hard to get photos but just imagine the Chariots of Fire theme music playing.
In the end, little Brixton just could not handle the stress of the races.
You sure this was birthday party? Umm... boy, how did you get all those beads?
In keeping with the Pirate theme, Poppi Tops out did himself yet again! He painted the photo-op background in the following shots. Amazing detail- it was so cool! Photos do not even do justice!
Father and son.

Lucy
Later that night, after bath time.
We had a concert playing on TV, background noise while we were doing things... Foo Fighters to be exact. Not our favorite by any means, but just happened to be on. Fisher ran over and pulled out his drums and insisted on playing along with them- nude. So awesome!
But wait... you can't have a lonely set of drums... he's missing a....
... Rody (get it)
Now that's better! Rock on naked baby with your Rody!
Sweet dreams, sweet cheeks.
